Abstract
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that affect dental hygiene students test anxiety, and to use these factors as basic data for developing a program that can reduce test anxiety through factors that can have a positive effect on students.
Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 190 dental hygiene students with clinical practice experience for the period from July 1 to August 30, 2022. Data analysis was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics 22.0 program.
Results: Factors influencing the test anxiety of the study subjects were confidence, self-regulating efficacy, assignment difficulty preference, social support, and predictive power was 25.0%.
Conclusions: Therefore, it is necessary to systematically support and manage students' psychological health and social support in order to overcome test anxiety among dental hygiene students taking the national examination for registered dental hygienists.
